For more than 50 years the Carlos Rosario School has supported adult immigrants achieving their dreams by providing education and resources to those committed to finding a better life for themselves and their families. Thanks in large part to committed donors and supporters like you, our highly effective programs of ESL, career training, and wraparound services have impacted the lives of tens of thousands of adult learners. Together we are building a stronger, more vibrant Washington, D.C. Thank you.
Your generosity advances these strategic priorities in our organization:
Closing the digital divide: Through 1:1 device lending; intensive student digital and device onboarding in Spanish, Amharic, and French; a hybrid educational model; and a peer Digital Navigator initiative; the School is actively working to close the digital gap for those furthest from opportunity at a time with digital access and fluency is a requirement across all industries and critical in accessing community benefits and resources.
Student scholarships and support for higher education: This year, we aim to support at least 50 deserving CR students and graduates to achieve their dream of higher education. Now more than ever, with the Supreme Court’s reversal of affirmative action, this support makes a difference for low-income BIPOC students to access and afford higher education.
Emergency financial assistance for students: The Student Emergency Fund supports students in dire situations, and addresses immediate needs such as food and housing insecurity. This safety net allows students to overcome barriers that hinder their persistence when faced with financial hardship.
Expansion of the impact of the Carlos Rosario School model: We rely on philanthropic dollars to serve MD and VA residents in our Citizenship and Small Business programs. Last year, with the support of local foundations and individual donors we were able to support 24 VA and MD residents;
Help make dreams a reality for our adult students. Make a donation to the Carlos Rosario School, TODAY!
