The Carlos Rosario School Small Business Program is intended for the start-up entrepreneur who seeks to establish a business enterprise in the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area. The Small Business Program guides the start-up entrepreneur through a particular thought process: IDEA + CONCEPT + APPLICATION. The Small Business Program Workshop Series, Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship, is an 11-part workshop series that meets once per week (evening) with homework assignments outside of class.
The workshop is offered in both Spanish (Tuesday Evenings, 6pm-9pm) or English (Thursday Evenings, 6pm-9pm), online via Zoom.
Class instruction will consist of key examples of entrepreneurial business models, the process of setting goals and objectives, understanding the chosen business industry, understanding business credit, use of digital apps and social media to market the business, knowledge of small business resources in the community, understanding the various legal structures of a business model, and invited guest speakers. There will also be required homework assignments outside of the class instruction. In addition, Certificates of Participation are awarded to those that qualify with class requirements at the, End of Semester Celebration at the Harvard Street Campus Auditorium. The Small Business Program is open to all residents of Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia.
