Career Training Programs

The Career Training programs at Carlos Rosario School are aimed to help English language learners earn entry-level certifications in high-wage, high-demand sectors in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Students complete classroom instruction and hands-on work in small cohorts guided by industry professionals. Upon graduation, students receive industry-recognized certifications to strengthen their candidacy for entry-level jobs with family-sustaining wages in high-demand industries. Program supports include internship opportunities, post-secondary education advising, and employability skills coaching.

Bilingual Teaching Assistant Training Program

Through this 5-month program, advanced English language learners (ESL level 8 or higher) are prepared to become certified teaching assistants as an entry into a career in education. Our bilingual teaching assistants typically gain employment in DC schools working with a classroom teacher to support instruction, especially for students whose first language is not English.

Nurse Aide Training Program

Two Nurses

Our Nurse Aide Training program is a 5-month, 200 hours of classroom instruction along with lab skills practice sessions, prepares students to become certified nurse aides licensed in the District of Columbia. Classes are taught by a registered nurse instructor and topics include medical terminology, basic caretaking skills, and a fundamental understanding of healthcare.

Technology Training Program

IT Class

The IT Fundamentals class is a 5-month program, 200 hours of classroom instruction along with virtual simulation and hands-on practice, prepares students to become CompTIA IT Fundamentals, entry level certification in Information Technology (IT) Students learn the fundamentals of computing networks, operating systems, hardware, security, software development and database concepts, cloud computing and virtualization. Students will also be introduced to IT professionals, a variety of employability skills, and potential IT pathways.
