The Carlos Rosario School's award-winning model includes foundational literacy and skills and career training courses along with comprehensive support services such as bi-lingual counseling, job placement assistance, leadership training and much more.
At the Carlos Rosario School we appreciate the complex situations often faced by our students. We offer a variety of class schedules to ensure you can meet your work and family responsibilities. Choose from morning, afternoon or evening classes.
Morning Session
Monday - Friday: 8:45 am - 11:30 am
Afternoon Session
Monday - Friday: 1:00 pm - 3:45 pm
Evening Session
Monday - Thursday: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The school year is divided into two semesters with the first semester beginning in August and ending in February. The spring semester begins in mid-February and ends in mid-June.
We offer foundational literacy courses such as ESL, GED and Citizenship as well as Computer Literacy training and workforce development programs in the IT, hospitality, and healthcare industries. To learn more about our courses, please click here.
Adult Education - Student Definition
DC Official Code &38-2901 defines the category as:
"Adult education" means services or instruction below the college level for adults who:
Lack sufficient mastery of basic educational skills to enable them to function effectively in society;
Do not have a certificate of graduation from a school providing secondary education and who have not achieved an equivalent level of education; OR
Have limited ability in speaking, reading, writing or understanding the English language and whose native language is a language other than English.
